IT WILL BE BEAUTIFUL!
If the creativity, beauty, charm, innovative functionality, and intelligent solutions we’ve seen over these four days at SICAM become part of next season’s furniture collections, then we can expect to see furnishings that are not only beautiful, but also comfortable and highly functional! This feeling perfectly captures the mood of these days in Pordenone: the sixteenth edition of the International Exhibition of Components, Semi-Finished Products and Accessories for the Furniture Industry — which concluded just a few hours ago after four intense days — has once again proven to be a great opportunity to experience first-hand the state of the art of the entire furniture supply chain. A sort of “happy island” where an atmosphere of positivity, optimism, and great energy could be felt throughout.
According to the very first estimates, from 14thto 17th October 23,818 visitors, representing more than 9300 companies from 113 countries, attended the fair. Italy naturally accounted for the largest share (61%), followed by strong contingents of visitors from Germany, Spain, China and a strong presence of East Europe. They were welcomed by 692 exhibitors from 33 countries, occupying all 19,150 net square metres of exhibition space available — the entire Pordenone exhibition center — including small, medium, and large enterprises alike.
These four days have confirmed the maturity of the fair, as reflected in the consistent figures for both exhibitors and visitors. “For several editions now, SICAM has been an unmissable event for everyone in the furniture supply chain,” comments Carolina Giobbi. “All professionals of the sector come to SICAM — a source of great pride for us as organizers, even though the true credit goes to the drawing power of the companies that choose to exhibit here in Pordenone.”
This edition successfully balanced the time dedicated to business — four days during which exhibitors and visitors were fully focused on their professional goals — with an increasingly rich fuori salone program featuring events and gatherings organized by companies and within the framework of ‘Enjoy Pordenone with SICAM’, the initiative promoted by the City of Pordenone. “The right balance between the time spent at the fair and everything that happens afterwards is certainly one of the key ingredients of SICAM’s success: informal meetings, conviviality, and the simple pleasure of being together often spark new ideas, inspiration, and opportunities for the future.”
A final mention goes to what is quickly becoming a cherished tradition for SICAM: this morning, on the last day of the fair, a large group of students from local schools and design institutes accepted the invitation of the ADI Friuli Venezia Giulia Delegation — the Italian Association for Industrial Design — to explore how design and the furniture industry can shape their professional future.
The next edition — the 17th SICAM — will take place from 20th to 23rd October 2026.

CARLO GIOBBI OPENS THE DOORS TO THE “SECOND GENERATION” OF SICAM
It is time to open the doors to the second generation of SICAM to my children Carolina and Michele, and involve them in an even stronger and more direct way in the management of this beautiful fair which, thanks to the exhibitors and visitors who choose us every year, has become a consolidated point of reference in the international calendar of exhibitions”.
With these words Carlo Giobbi – founder of SICAM, the international exhibition of components, accessories and semi-finished products for the furniture industry – announced that he wanted to give continuity and further impetus to the event by involving Carolina and Michele Giobbi in an even stronger and more direct way, always alongside his father in this endeavor.
The news – communicated to the numerous journalists present at the opening press conference of SICAM 2023, which took place from 17 to 20 October – was greeted with long and moving applause. Carlo Giobbi immediately wanted to clarify that this is certainly not a handover, but the dutiful recognition of the work done by his children in recent years and an incitement to continue a highly successful path in a time that requires fair organizers to be up to date with the transformations underway.
“We must look to the future, demonstrating that we have the will and energy to enrich our position as an effective meeting point between people with new content,” concluded Giobbi. “The vision, skills and experience of Carolina and Michele will allow us, I am sure, to continue to represent a quality experience and a concrete business opportunity for the world of furniture supplies”.
