“PRAGMATISM AND OPTIMISM” THE KEY WORDS OF SICAM 2026

The 17th edition of SICAM, the International Exhibition of Components, Semi-finished Products and Accessories for the Furniture Industry, closed its doors just a few hours ago, opened on Tuesday 20 October. It was an event brimming with ideas, products and people: according to initial estimates released just hours after closing, the exhibition’s ten halls welcomed 24,100 trade visitors, representing 9,450 companies from 125 countries. Italy reaffirmed SICAM as a key industry event, accounting for over 59 per cent of visitors, followed by Germany, Spain, England, France, Greece, the Balkans and Eastern European countries.
Looking beyond Europe, China, the United States and India topped the visitor rankings, in that order. Attendance from the Middle East was also particularly strong, despite the extremely difficult situation in the region.

The 698 exhibitors – 31.4 per cent of them from 35 countries abroad – expressed their satisfaction after presenting tens of thousands of products, ideas and innovations across the exhibition’s 19,150 square metres of net exhibition space. Their investment in simple yet exceptionally elegant, carefully designed and effective stands demonstrated the value that suppliers to the furniture industry place on SICAM.

The quality of the visitors was particularly evident: people come to SICAM for much more than a casual look around. They come to see and experience first-hand the decorative surfaces, mechanisms and solutions that will shape the furniture collections showcased at upcoming trade fairs around the world.

The exhibition provided an inspiring setting in which to gather ideas for the future, extending beyond products to include meetings and exchanges with representatives of markets interested in Italian and European offerings. All this unfolded, as mentioned, in a pleasant, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere: a true “happy place”, as many now like to call it. For four days it allowed exhibitors and visitors to step away from the pressures and challenges of the moment, bringing a much-needed sense of optimism to the entire industry and opening up fresh perspectives on the future.

The event was further enriched by a series of prestigious occasions and accompanying initiatives, including “Enjoy Pordenone with SICAM”, the programme of events around the city championed by the Municipality of Pordenone, which once again reaffirmed the close ties between SICAM and the city.

The 18th edition of SICAM will take place from 19 to 22 October 2027.

CARLO GIOBBI OPENS THE DOORS TO THE “SECOND GENERATION” OF SICAM

It is time to open the doors to the second generation of SICAM to my children Carolina and Michele, and involve them in an even stronger and more direct way in the management of this beautiful fair which, thanks to the exhibitors and visitors who choose us every year, has become a consolidated point of reference in the international calendar of exhibitions”.

With these words Carlo Giobbi – founder of SICAM, the international exhibition of components, accessories and semi-finished products for the furniture industry – announced that he wanted to give continuity and further impetus to the event by involving Carolina and Michele Giobbi in an even stronger and more direct way, always alongside his father in this endeavor.

The news – communicated to the numerous journalists present at the opening press conference of SICAM 2023, which took place from 17 to 20 October – was greeted with long and moving applause. Carlo Giobbi immediately wanted to clarify that this is certainly not a handover, but the dutiful recognition of the work done by his children in recent years and an incitement to continue a highly successful path in a time that requires fair organizers to be up to date with the transformations underway.

“We must look to the future, demonstrating that we have the will and energy to enrich our position as an effective meeting point between people with new content,” concluded Giobbi. “The vision, skills and experience of Carolina and Michele will allow us, I am sure, to continue to represent a quality experience and a concrete business opportunity for the world of furniture supplies”.
