Versa Srls

Versa Srls, based in Sciacca, is a historic mill that has been producing the highest-quality soft and durum wheat flours since 1900. The experience and constant pursuit of innovation allow Versa Srls to offer excellent products for every need.

Today, the brand Versa Macinazioni represents the prestige of flours made with Sicilian grains, maintaining the fundamental timing and milling method as well as a short supply chain.

The grains come primarily from crops in the surrounding area, ensuring the traceability of the raw material and reducing the environmental impact of long transport routes.
These grains have not undergone the genetic modifications of modern intensive agriculture, preserving their rustic and original profile so that products made with these flours (bread, fresh pasta, pizza, focaccia, and traditional desserts such as cucciddati) are distinguished by an authentic flavour, a characteristic golden or amber colour, and intense aromas reminiscent of the Sicilian land, which are difficult to replicate with standard flours.

Many of the product lines are processed using cylinder milling. This method allows Versa Srls to preserve the wheat germ – the most noble part of the grain, rich in vitamins, minerals, and healthy lipids – obtaining a high-quality product, characterized by high digestibility, a better toleration and a lower glycemic index than highly refined flours.
